Can someone explain the demon thing better?

I want to know the demonic energies better, and how to identify them...like simply.. lust and greed, anger etc... But the only information I can find is lengthy lists of demons their ranks and vague information about them which doesnt seem to make any sense.... My question is: What exactly do they mean when a demon rules a certain number of legions? Does it mean like.. the demon or chief of lust, controls a specific number of influenced people? I jus dont get the whole ranking, and ruling over legions... Are the legions just a bunch of weaker mini demons? I don't want all the vague mystic BS I jus need a simple explanation on how they supposably work.. I am a christian, and all I can find is information on the goetic demons, and stupid definitions like...a duke ruling in the East, who appears in the form of a comely old man, ambling upon a crocodile and carrying a goshawk on his wrist. He makes those who run stand still, brings back runaways, teaches all languages, destroys spiritual and temporal dignities and causes earthquakes. He is of the Order of the Virtues. I guess I'm kinda dumb, but anyone who can make some simple sense of thise would be an angel!!!! Thank you for your time! Godbless!
