Valuing Dodgy Artists?

DaVinci, Degas, Bono, Michaelangelo, Beethoven, Wonder, Bach, the Beatles... there are plenty of artists who were not completely unconventional, self-destructive, or otherwise unrespectable, even if they challenged conventions in art. It all depends which side of the picture you choose to focus on, I suppose.
